Mastering Trading Psychology: Check-Up for a Rewarding Year

It’s time for a check-up from the neck up. We are six months into the year and a great time to access your progress as a trader. How are you doing?

I know the money is the bottom line, but how about your attitude towards trading? Are you remaining centered and objective, or are you being guided by commentators and market guru’s? Are you still seeing opportunity on a daily basis?

All markets have plenty of opportunity . If you can’t seem to find any its time to take a fresh look at the market again. Are you pressing too hard, or holding back too much? Trust yourself enough to realign yourself with the market in front of you. Perception is everything!

Are you enjoying your trading or are you a bucket of nerves up and down with more mental volatility than the markets ever had? Remember if you want to stay poised and relaxed while you trade, you absolutely must tame your thoughts and clear out your PFC. Only then can you approach the market with complete objectivity.

Trading the markets is learning all about yourself. It’s not you against the markets, its you against you. That is why great traders learn over time that its really about learning how you interact with market conditions. The markets will always be there. Mr. Market plays his game, you play your game. The key is not to change your game based on every knee jerk reaction of Mr. Market.

It’s knowing how you respond to fear, greed, hope and anger. Its feeling those emotions in their early stages and knowing what you need to do to maximize your performance every time.

Are you a better trader now than you were at the start of the year? Do you have a yearly trading training schedule to add and refine your expertise? All professionals are continually pressing forward to advance their trading psychology, technical analysis, fundamental analysis etc. They are constantly looking to enhance their value and expertise. The market will reward those traders who master this thing, and will punish those who fail to learn and progress.

If things are not going your way year to date, it’s time right now to take a step back to analyze exactly what you need to make this year your most rewarding year ever. if something has to change, make the change. I’ll see you at the top!
